Everyone agrees that barbecued beer can chicken is a classic, must-try dish. Cooking a whole chicken on the grill may seem like an ambitious project, but it’s actually easy to do. All you need to do is use the right technique, ingredients and accessories. The result? Juicy meat with crispy skin!
Place a 1.5 kg (3 lb) chicken in a bowl and sprinkle with Jerk spices, salt & pepper.
Roughly chop the onions, peppers, celery and carrots, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with more Jerk spices. Add chopped vegetable to bottom of the beer can roaster rack.
Insert a can of Budweiser, or Budweiser Zero into the holder, then place the chicken on the can. Budweiser is the perfect beer for this recipe because its delicate taste pairs perfectly with chicken.
Place the roaster rack on the barbecue and cook indirectly until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 75° C (170° F).
Serve and enjoy this delicious and tender chicken!
Pulled Pork is a hugely popular classic BBQ dish. This is an easy-to-make dish that’s ideal for entertaining or for cooking in large quantities for later use.
With a meat syringe, inject half a can, or bottle of Budweiser, or half a can of Zero into the pork.
Coat the meat with the BBQ sauce, then sprinkle over the BBQ spices and Sea salt & Black pepper.
BBQ at 110° C for two hours
Remove from heat and place on a sheet of aluminium foil, wrap the meat and before closing pour in remaining Budweiser or Zero and add 2 tbsp of honey.
Return to the grill and BBQ at 150° C until the meat’s internal temperature reaches 95° and as little resistance as possible is felt when you insert the thermometer.
Remove from heat and let stand for one third of cooking time, then shred the meat and top with BBQ sauce. Enjoy.
